Not a direct answer - but it seems 'Pereira' has just picked
samples to test that are representative.
What is a bit awkward is if you should try to reconstruct his work.
For example - if I have it right (and excuse any slips on my part)
Taken at random, an Ireland sample - called IRL32
has its 4 parts spread over:-
AY778614 - 290 bases from COX1 (6761-7050)
AY777965 - 540 bases from tRNA-Ile & ND2 (4281-4820)
AY777316 - 390 bases from ND1 (3661-4050)
AY776667 - 359 bases 16S Ribosomal protein (3001-3360)
which when added together, is where the 1580 base pairs comes from.
And, HVRI + HVRII are nowhere to be found,
- which would apear to limit things somewhat.
Further comments anybody.
