Other than saving a couple of hundred bucks, I can't imagine why anyone with would refrain from SNP testing after all the time, money, & effort that has been invested in STR testing. Isn't it obvious by now that the two tests have a relationship like bread & butter? How many posts related to haplogroup prediction have there been in the last six months? We're just not going to make a lot of progress until extensive SNP testing is coupled with high resolution STR analysis. We can debate endlessly or we can focus our energies & resources on doing the testing & resolve the questions. In the past, extensive SNP testing was not an option. It soon will be. Let's just take the plunge & get on with it. Let the data speak for itself. Pat Tagert
