There is a tradeoff between using fewer and faster ("informative" in their terminology) markers vs. using more slower markers. For those not testing within a documented family tree, faster markers can be "misinformative." Even within family trees, they must be used with care. I have seen several cases of premature conclusions drawn from results on very fast markers.
