Well, that's a fair assumption....:) but there really is quite a bit of
descreptancy when it comes to looking over the paper work at DAR....and it
takes at least 2 years, sometimes longer for supplementals and in DAR the
genealogists are suppose to now be getting a pay check....I have several
supplementals and there are only two at present that I really question...and
I've done enough research to know that I would have to research every family
line in the rejected supplemental to prove which one was mine in the PA Rev
records...they won't give you what they have for documentation etc...and
communications with them in this day and age is like trying to communicate
with a dinosaur...
And I have a real problem with a lot of old genealogies that are NOT
documented but because someone has published them, they are consider *in
stone*....and as mentioned earlier the way they made connections between
folks was really a lot of guess work unless there was explicit
documentation...not to mention most folks work off of the published records
which certainly is not all inclusive....
So I found the DNA really really helpful!! and it just supported what I've
found in the records....lots of folks DON'T have documentation and then add
the societies to that...well, DNA is going to be the only way to go...the
tough part about DNA is finding enough surnamed cousins or at least one for
each line!!
Not to mention the inaccuracies in the records!!

I detect a certain flavor of sour grapes in a lot of these comments.
