Subject: Re: [DNA] Middle Eastern ancestral markers on new Euro 1.0 test
Date: Fri, 27 May 2005 09:53:15 EDT
In a message dated 5/26/2005 10:28:11 P.M. Pacific Standard Time,
the high percentage of Middle Eastern and Southeastern European
(Mediterranean) ancestral markers indicated by this Euro 1.0 assay of my
European content possibly explain why I have the Asian minority content
showing up on my previous DNAPrint 2.0 and 2.5 tests?
I think that makes sense -- and I also think that recombinatorial DNA could
explain why you and your brother got different %s -- you aren't (necessarily)
going to inherit the same bits and pieces of autosomal DNA, as I understand
it. So one of you could have inherited a larger portion of bits from the one
(or two) ancestral lines than from the others.
And of course, always keeping in mind that 25% is within a confidence
(If I'm wrong some expert speak up!)
