Hi Robert,
Well, your mother's brother would give you the Y DNA
results of your MATERNAL GRANDFATHER (your mom's
father's line).
Your own Y DNA (which is equivalent to the Y DNA of
your father or one of his brothers) would give you
your PATERNAL GRANDFATHER's Y DNA.
And also, if you test the mtDNA of your mother's
brother, you will get your MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER's
LINE--but this is unnecessary because your mtDNA
(inherited by your mom) will be exactly the same as
your mom's brothers mtDNA. So you can just test your
own mtDNA.
