I am aware that the new version of the haplogroup program is very slow. I
have discovered something very interesting in the last few days, however.
When I use the Firefox browser by Mozilla, the program runs approximately 15
times faster than under IE. There are more formatting problems in Foxfire,
but I've also discovered that clicking on refresh (which reloads the
program, taking more time) usually gets rid of the scrunched boxes, AND
amazingly, the values you've entered are not erased. The Firefox browser is
a free download from mozilla.com,

I looked at your Beta version, and particularily like
the tiebreaker test for most popular haplogroups.
However, the file is so large that it's not practical
to use on-line. I downloaded it to my "average" PC,
then ran the application locally, but it's still slow.
Could you consider a "haplite" version (pardon the pun
on early Greek soldiers) based on just 12 markers and
with a text input box, rather than pull down menus?
Such would make crunching a large number of haplotypes
more convenient for those of us so inclined.
