Rare as hens teeth. P is found in Central Asia and but rarely in North America. I don't know how one could use any sort of algorithm to predict P as I don't believe there is enough haplotype data. I have never seen any P designation from FTDNA in any of the hundreds of exact to 4 level mutation "matches" for any haplogroup. Best to get them to SNP test the sample for you but don't be surprised if the result is R1b (or one of the subclades if there is a "match" from Iberia), R1a or possibly Q.
