Bill,
I can understand your prayer for black and white answers and am heartened to
see the addition of "or visa versa" to your request. I have no vested
interest in any view other than finding the truth. To do so, I try very hard
to distinguish between assumptions and facts. To the best of my knowledge,
I've never read anything that directly discusses the correlation between the
timing of SNP and STR mutations, other than my last post ; ) I noted that
haplotypes are fairly reliable predictors of many haplogroups. What
circumstances created this correlation?
Today we don't have black and white answers. My post was meant to provide
some evidence that may help to clarify the timing of SNP and STR mutations
in I1a. If you have any evidence, one way or the other, bring it on! Let's
eat the apples and oranges instead of talking about them : )Thanks,
Phil
