In fact, that is probably the most thoroughly documented line in the world.
(Although much of the earliest available material is probably a good deal
less than 100% reliable.) The royal charts are very much a matter of
public record and have been subjected to considerable scrutiny. (My
nephew, for example, is a 10th cousin twice removed of Prince William,
through Princess Diana. (It's too complicated to explain here, but part
of Princess Diana's ancestry is American.)

Again, the limits of using DNA for this are familiar to everyone here, but I
agree that it would be interesting from a genetic standpoint to have a look
at this. Using the standard publicly available database (the familiar
Royal92.ged), Prince Charles descends from the Mountbatten line of Greece,
which in fact is not Greek, but rather descends from King Christian IX of
Denmark (Charles' great-great-grandfather). Christian IX was the son of
Duke Frederick William of Schleswig (Germany).
