The NGS is using 12 markers for the public part of their program. Such
short haplotypes are of minimal use in identifying meaningful genealogical
matches. You will have to increase your haplotype to more markers one way
or the other. The SMGF database contains over 12,000 European haplotypes in
it, I believe. Almost all of them are 43 (depending on how one counts)
markers in length.
Ironically, the 12 marker haplotypes that NGS is measuring are mainly useful
for establishing one's membership in a broad haplogroup. And some
genealogists don't consider that information genealogy, but rather something
else.
