I should have said two (rather than three) to four may never be returned.
One was a prank. The other was an older gentleman, living with his son, who
was approached by a sponsor. There was agreement on taking the test, but it
was never returned. After a couple of followups, the son told the sponsor to
leave them alone and then hung up the telephone! The other two potential
participants have fallen silent. I remind them every month or two that their
kits have not yet been received. One hinted at money problems. Being an
optimist, I won't give up until the participant says to stop. As such, I
suspect my kit failure rate will ultimately prove to be closer to 10%.
