Sharon, many of my Tagert relatives (including one of my test
participants) were in the worst zone of destruction east of New
Orleans & are as yet unheard from. Just hoping for the best. Thanks
for your post. Pat Tagert
CNN has a "meet up " board _CNN.com Citizen Journalists: Send your pictures,
video, stories_ (http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2005/hurricanes/feedback/) to
post information on people you are looking for and a list of folks who have
reported themselves safe and where they went.
The Salvation Army also runs a registry. Individuals seeking information
about loved ones in the disaster areas may register an inquiry online at
_www.satern.org_ (http://www.satern.org/) .

Moveon.org is sponsoring a Housing project for the people displaced who have
no family. They are asking those who have spare beds to offer housing. You
can read about the program here. Maybe if you have rental property you could
also offer that free or at a reduced rate. _MoveOn.org: Democracy in

These folks have no homes, no jobs, and a lot of stress. Everything wiped
out in 24 hours. They are in shock, and they need all the help they can get --
for a year or more. Anderson Cooper said the only thing he could compare it
to was the tsunami in SE Asia in December. The Astrodome and Red Cross's 429
operating shelters in the area are a temporary fix -- longer term help will
be needed.
God bless them and all of us!
