Ken,

Sorry for the confusing DYF399S1 nomenclature. To say it clearly, your
results are:
22-25-26 in the short form of reporting.
The new ISFG recommendations say, that we should use hyphens (instead of
commas) to separate unsorted alleles of a multicopy marker.
This short form of reporting really means, that there are 10 additional
bases in total in each of your alleles which we don't show, because we
shift the whole ladder 10 bases to the right.
Thus the long form of reporting would be really 22.10-25.10-26.10 if we
would strictly follow the ISFG recommendations. This is completely
different from 22.1-25.1-26.1, because each allele would be 9 bases
shorter then.

It seems to be specific to Haplogroup I that they have three "blunt"
alleles (each with 10 additional bases). R1b have a specific additional
11th base (a G) in one of their larger alleles. Whit's sample is even
more cryptic and seems to have an odd number of A's in the last repeat
structure, but we still have to sequence it to find out exactly.

I have addressed the nomenclature issue of DYF399S1 on this page:
