Asking this way - I could ask - have you not heard that William Wallace was European..?? Britain was and still is a very complex country in the purely ethnic terms and thus many heritages are listed as Highland Scottish, Lowland Scottish, Northumbrian, Anglian, Saxon, Welsh, Cornish, etc. etc. That is - we are not talking about the Passport Office here but about genetic/genealogical/ethnic studies - if you are interested at all ...
