The theory you were referring to was that the Wallaces were
as you put it "from Wales." More specifically this theory is
that the Wallaces came from the Shopshire area with the
Stewarts. Shropshire is not actually in Wales so one would
presume that the thinking was that he was from the closest
part. This is as opposed to the other thinking that the Wallaces
were native to the area they inhabited by the time of William
Wallace (ie. that they were originally Strathclyde Britons).
