Who was taking bets this morning? Ysearch 23UDR should turn out derived for
S21; it seems to have all 4 marker things going for it being in the Frisian
cluster. But that cluster can not be the main source of derived-S21 if that
30 percent estimate is to hold up. The cluster had 135 haplotypes from
Sorenson. That's decent, but given the size of the whole R1b population, or
for that matter just the DYS390,391=23,11 R1b population in the Sorenson
database, this is too small a sole source. But at least it directs us
toward the continent in the search for the larger source(s) which may have
had their contributions to the peopling of the British Isles as well.
Is it S1 or S21? Where did I get the "21"?
