Dear David F.,
Charles Kerchner is going to be speaking at a Family History Center, in Muhlenberg Township, Reading, PA, on October 8th. Many members of that church are descended from the Pennsylvania "Dutch". Perhaps you should write to Charles about the lack of German-American participation. A few months ago, there was a special class about DNA research for the Family History Center volunteers; so at least this one church seems to be encouraging DNA research. Although I am not a Mormon, I am a "regular" there, and I am always encouraging the volunteers and visitors to the FHC to get involved with DNA research.
If anybody is interested, I am of German descent.
Best Regards,
Valerie (von Vange) Karvoski
