There is a secondary benefit to the Kittler test in cases where the same
value is reported for both copies of 385: it confirms that two copies of the
385 marker exist rather than just one.
I am still not aware of a case in which only one copy of 385 has been found
in a haplotype, but when it occurs the Kittler test will pick it up.
