I don't know how you are counting but your haplotype seems an excellent
candidate for Continental I1c.
I was comparing them to the benchmarks you gave for I1c & Continental I1c.
You are not going to let a mutation here and
there bother you? Mutations happen. Only the 437 is really off base.
I wasn't sure whether enough mutations had happened to make it not
Continental or not. But hey! Being an outlier is good (you can outlie the other lier!
hahaha sorry for the bad pun).
I talked about the outlier population in continental I1c at DYS464. You
have it; and so does the dna sample which is P78+ (14,14,16,17) This is
sample I obtained from Stanford and satisfied myself at least that it is a
basic I1c haplotype by having extended haplotype measured.
I have one of these with 48 markers and one to soon have more than that.
When things
settle down at Ethnoancestry and Dr. Wilson has more time, they may offer
P78 as a new SNP in I1c. This haplotype which is P78+ is YCC61 in Butler's
list (viewable via Garvey's site) and came from Germany.
I think I will wait awhile to see if EA adds P78 before recommending a SNP
testing for this group. Do you have anything narrower than "Germany?" Like a
region or town?
