Why would 12% R1b among NA men seem high? Recalling DNAPrint's now
vanished chart plotting ancestral percentages of one
federally-recognized tribe--that chart showed a nearly 40% IE admixture.
I would think a 12% "European" mtDNA haplogroup among Native Americans
would be surprising, if it turned up, but not a Y-chromosome haplogroup.
Consider the Puerto Rican studies, where the NA percentages are much
higher on the female lines than on the male lines.
