Dear Jim

I had a quick look. You have not been scored for all the 37 FTDNA
markers and that makes things challenging. You closest matches were
R1bSTR25a at 8 mismatches, but there is not clear preference for this
group as several other groups have 9 mismatches. In summary you have a
moderately unusual haplotype.

I would be tempted to do the S21 test (I note the DYS390=23 as well) and
the M167 test because at worse you have eliminated about 25% of R1b.

Regards David's question about Guidry, without doing quite a bit of work
my guess is based on the rather deep branches these are distant matches
and this is their best fit.

Cheers

John McEwan

David,

Thank you for your response. No I have not been SNP tested. My cousin
is
listed as R1b, so I supposed that tihis would not be useful. But
perhaps
his is estimated also. Will wait for any other ideas, and perhaps some
other matches will appear.

Thanks again,

Jim
