When FTDNA say haplogroup I they really mean IxI1b (P19+ P37- would be the
precise SNP results)

There is a separate paragraph provided for I1b as follows:

"I1b This subgroup of Haplogroup I is found within the Balkans countries at
it's (sic) greatest frequency and diversity. These countries probably
harbored this subset of Haplogroup I as a refuge during the Last Glacial
Maximum."

I would agree with this as far as it goes (they could mention
Western/Iberian I1b but they are rather rare).
It's the write up for I which is misleading and out of date.
