I started with OA and feel that their biggest drawback for me is that
they don"t show the Shire of the "earliest known ancestor" aside from
country. Of course some or many don't know anything more than the country of
origin (like myself) but for those who do know their own family history in
more detail, that is a tremendous loss for the rest of us. The lack of
385a and 385b markers cuts out comparison with four of the five varieties of
I1a, but that isn't as big a loss to me as the inability to tell where in
each country the "earliest known ancestor" was located. Possibly that isn't
as big a deal for others, but I have 75 plus matches with OA and would love
to know if they tend to be in the southern or eastern part of England or
Scotland, but I can't get that sort of information from their web site.
I have gone on to get more data from a number of other companies and
would rank OA at the bottom of the list because of this inability to get
much help in the follow-up interpretation of the data.
