Bob,
you said:
"I have never pushed a firm."
Oh? I'm really am surprised to hear you say that. I know a few list members
that have a different opinion. Even going back almost three years to some of
your earliest posts, you were being asked if you were a RG list
representative. If you are not, the perception is certainly there.
--------------------
"I have also recommended FTDNA for some tests, In fact, you were on the
thread in which I recommended FTDNA for some subclade tests. Have you forgotten
about it?"
No, I remember it well. Charles had just announced his R1b project. You said
"There is little reason for anyone to buy FTDNA's R subclade test.." Then a
couple sentences later, without mentioning any company name, you said "Some
of the other subgroups are much better, especially since they guarantee their
precdiction." I guess at the time I didn't read this as a glowing
recommendation.
------------------
"On the other hand I can't recall any of your posts in which you mentioned
one of the first four favorably."
That's true. I have said nothing about them - good nor bad. They are
excellent companies. I have tested at three of the five companies usually discussed
on this list. I have no complaints. I do not recommend companies. However, I
will defend them when I see someone posting questionable statements or
pushing personal agendas. Last time it was Richard C. This time it is you vs.
FTDNA. Maybe next time I'll stick up for RG if the need arises. I do not have MBA
from a "top school" like you, but I am not afraid to speak up for the silent
majority.
------------------
I am done with this thread and have no desire to go any farther with it. I
realize you will. But I have new results to analyze.
