Phyllis,
That is a hard question. First do you want to join a surname project? if so
check all the different companies to see if a company has a surname project
for you. Second if there is none, do you want to start one, In this avenue
you have to look at what company offers the best costs, website space if you
don't know how to create one for yourself, or if you can create a website to
show your groups results then just costs and which tests are the best for
genealogical results.
Go to some of the project pages to observe how they are presented and then
make your decision.
We all have our favorite companies and we all have particular str markers we
want to be in our tests. You might find that one company can offer you most
of what you want but do not test some of the areas you want results for.. So
you might, like the Gilpin DNA project is doing, use more then one company
showing your results on a private website... (we also list our results on
Ysearch.)
But to give you a direct answer.. I can not.
I hope this helps you.
Nelda a very new newbie...
