You mean the new I1b2a? www.northwestanalysis.net I can not imagine anyone
presently having the kind of data which could seriously address that
question? The (old) I1c region of the I haplogroup Tree (M223+) got a
flurry of discovered SNPs added in recent times. I think that is mainly the
luck of the SNP discovery process plus possibly some reflection on the
hunting methodologies of the SNP hunters. You only find SNPs within the
populations you search in.
Because of the "loss of differences" (LOH) events (I think of them as
"doubling" events) which occur in DYS464, 459, CDY, I think there are
differences in the distribution of marker repeat values for these markers,
particularly 464, among haplogroups.
