Thanks. I hope that more "extensive testing" will be done.
Most of have waited 12 months for results... My hope is that
we will get some actual results before long.

The 12-marker Y test is just for the public participation phase. The samples
from the field projects will have more extensive testing (Spencer Wells once
intimated that it might even include X and autosomal markers).
I'm not 100% clear on the SNP testing, either, but my impression from
reports
on the mailing list is that SNP tests are performed if the haplotype is not
a
close match to a SNP-proven haplotype (close = exact or one-step difference
to one and only one haplogroup).
