List,
the Mexico Project currently has one CMH and of his three 12 marker matches two are hispanic.
FTDNA's descriptions mention CMH in its descriptions for J and J1as being found in haplogroup J* but not in its description for J2. It appears FTDNA is testing him for J1.

Ann,
Bennett passed this haplotype along when I had asked for the CMH almost a year ago:

FTDNA changed it from J2 to J1 sometime around 2004, and there may be some
websites that have not updated their description. (My book "Trace Your Roots
with DNA" also has the old J2 description.)
When I Googled for , I found this page.

I gather this page is linked to when a customer matches the 12-marker CMH as
defined by FTDNA. That would be a parallel to the special WAMH icon that I've
seen when a customer has the "Western Atlantic Modal Haplotype".

I have not seen any 12-marker modal haplotypes, but we could probably
construct one if enough people with the CMH icon posted their haplotypes. I don't
know that they're bound to a vow of secrecy :)
