Eric, I can see you how my message could be misinterpreted. What I
was suggesting is that this is the "first case" of correlating ANY
historic clan ( of ANY ethnicity) with a specific SNP. The
implication is that eventually many historic clans could be found to
be associated with specific SNPs. This would apply to clans from all
ethnicities from all the continents (as in, native American clans,
African clans, Asian clans, etc.), including of course, clans of the
British Isles. That is indeed the Holy Grail of SNP research. :-)
