Kim,
If you upload to Ysearch, you can compare with the Northwest Irish Modal
(M5UKQ). My ancestors were from Sligo, and I am close to that modal, as is
another Burns who still lives in Sligo. Also a Burns from Donegal and a Beirne
from Roscommon, which is south of Co. Sligo. Apparently, the Ui Neill did a lot
fo foraying south out of Ulster.
The area around Gurteen in the center of the county is known as Coleman Country, after a famous violinist.
