Based on results to date (brief STR profile and limited SNPs) I have not
been able to classify you.

You are listed as R1b1c (=M269+). You asked about generic R1b (=M343+).
Most entries in genealogical databases that are M343+ are also M269+

If you are interested in SNPs and deep ancestry yes there is another
deep R1b clade test you can take. It is Ethnoancestry's the works
package. You can do a similar test through FTDNA at a cheaper cost but
S21 and S28 the two most interesting SNPs are not available from FTDNA.
I would wait until you had your 37 marker STR profile first. However, if
you are truly interested by all means go ahead and get tested.

DeHart is an interesting Irish name suggestive of Norman ancestry?

What is new?
* Now have 142 SNP entries, 86 are defined reasonably comprehensively.
* 9 updates and 2 new entries
* one of these new entries Denny RS4EF is a P25-, M269+ discussed
earlier on the list. A detailed analysis comparing his result with the
other Francis 2MHA9 the other P25-, M269+ shows 12 mismatches on 31
common markers. This strongly suggests but does not prove that the P25+
to P25- mutation has occurred separately. If Bill Denny was to S21- it
would however be almost conclusive proof. I understand Bill is getting
an extended haplotype first and then proceeding on to a SNP test.

Again if anybody has new results or noted any errors please contact me.
