I have a question about the 22 new markers available for testing at FTDNA.
I have a couple of situations where I have at least three 37 marker matches among individuals of the same surname. For at least one of those triplet groups an upgraded test to 59 markers has been ordered.
Since these people match 37/37 markers but don't have positive paper trails that intersect what would be the possibilities that they would not match 59/59?
I'm trying to decide whether I should recommend the others also extend to 59 markers. Would those of you who are studying these things expect that there might be further divergent points which would indicate branching? Are there any markers where these branching points would be expected?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
