People can laugh at current events (the Gods know that they're funny enough)
without necessarily taking a political position on one side or another.
That's been a staple of comedy ever since there have been people. (Let's
see; just recently, Monty Python, Saturday Night Live, Southpark, Dave
Barry, and just about every stand-up comic that I've ever known reads the
current events section of the paper religiously for material - for good
reason.

This sounds more like a personal pet hate of yours than anything that could
possibly have come out of any discussion on list, and you're getting really
far afield. Nobody that I know of is trying to come up with a genetic
definition for La Raza here (which would be really hard to do, since they're
even more mixed than the Normans were); we're just observing what is.
