For "serious" traditional genealogy research, did you consider, subscriptions, travel including mileage,motels, meals, etc. postage, fees, dues, image reproducing, professional researchers, and on and on?
I have paid for a number of tests, to figure out things, such as where my lines particular mutation from the "old family" haplotype started at.
For the money, I believe DNA is by far the better value. Of course, both are required for validation.
