I'll try to find the sources, as I also have distant FitzGerald ancestors.
The Welsh connection should be easier to find. Perhaps, checking the
Internet for Nesta of Wales? It would be great if there is a good number of
FitzGerald Y-DNA results to try to pin the situation down. As I mentioned
in a recent email to the List, DNA results for Milligaan/Millikken/Mullikin
etc. have greatly altered our research-based conclusion that our Y-DNA
origins were among the Brythonic-speaking tribes of SW Scotland. Y-DNA
results are pointing our origins to be among the NW Irish Tribes
