Sam Adams is second cousin once removed to John Quincy Adams (6th President
of the US) and 2nd cousin to John Adams (2nd president of the US). The
common ancestors are Joseph Adams and Abigail Baxter. I guess that you
could say that that's Those Adamses. Joseph is my 2nd cousin 10 times
removed - the common ancestors are Richard Adams (1530-1603) and Margaret
Amager (1540-1604). (We think - there are a couple of places back in
Merrie Olde where the documentation is a bit vague.) That makes ol'
Brewin' Sam my 5th cousin 7 times removed - Cheers!
Interestingly, that's on my father's side. He's also 6th cousin 6 times
removed on my mother's side, the common ancestors there being Richard's
parents. (Grandmother Wright's maiden name was Adams.)
