I should have said that the values of 17 on DYS481 that I reported were
using EA's standards, rather than FTDNA's. FTDNA reported DYS481=21 for two
of my Athey G2's, so I guess that is not so distinctive.

Dear Gareth,
Three of my Athey G2's have 17 on DYS481. Such a low value would seem to be
quite distinctive, though at this point I don't know if it's a
characteristic of my project participants or G2.

Ken
see http://www.isogg.org for more information.
My updated data shows the following for DYS481
I1a (13 results) high - 25 to 27
I1b1 (2 results) very high - 28 & 30
I1b2* (2 results) medium - 23
I1b2a (1 result) high - 26
J2a (1 result) low - 22
Q (1 result) high - 27
R1a (3 results) medium - 23
R1b ex M222 (> 40) low/medium - 19 to 24
R1b1c7 (2 results) high - 25
There are probably some results I haven't recorded yet, but it seems clear
that this is the "hottest" of the new markers.
Are these still the only groups for which we have any data?
Gareth
