Hi all,

I've given Tom Glad's new mtDNA-Analysis Utility -
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~glad/dna/mtdnatool.html - another
workout by running it on the K listings from MitoSearch. There were as of
this morning 664 K entries on MitoSearch, but I deleted the ones which did
not have HVR2 results, leaving 296 high-resolution entries. I again added at
the top a "Kroot" entry which only has the six basic K mutations. The
genetic distance of the entries from the Kroot runs from one to 10. There
are about 155 mutations listed, based on a very quick count: 73 in HVR1 and
82 in HVR2. See:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~wrhurst/mtdna-k/kmts664.htm Be
sure to look at both tables in this file!

Also, I have uploaded a revised Fluxus diagram for the K Project members
probably in K1a1b1a. The previous diagram had several alternate orders for
several of the mutations. Weighting the mutations eliminate a couple of the
alternate routes and of those remaining I eliminated the least logical
route. So this diagram ends up as my best guess. See:

In case you somehow missed it, here is the original mail on this subject
