Where is the evidence that it originated in Israel? I do not think that

1) Evidence for J2 originating from Israel is in the data about
domestication of wheat.
2) The suggestion that J2 originated in northern portion of "fertile
crescent" cannot be taken too literally, as if it were possible to know
where mutations happened by examining their distribution today. In any
case, J2 is said to be a "northern" branch of Haplogroup J only in relation
to the "southern" branch (J1).
