Oh yes. One last thing. I am busy reading the paper
on haplogroup H in that Ann just posted about to the
list. But in it, the origin of haplogroup V is again
postulated to be pre-LGM and in southwestern Europe.
The aDNA evidence indicates that this point of origin
is very likely incorrect. Yes, V is found in very
high frequency today among Basque and in great
diversity, but was absent among ancient Basque and
ancient Iberian groups right through the Neolithic
era.
