Ann,
The crude measurements translate to each person matching each of the other
two on 22 of 36 alleles.
That seemed odd to me that each person would be 22/36 to both of the others.
I will make sure that only two parents can account for all the alleles of
the three children. Now why didn't I think of that!

Yes, population frequencies are part of the equation. There's a website with
tons of information on it, too much for me to absorb!

For a crude measure, you can simply count how many alleles are held in
common by any pair, and you can also see if two parents can account for all
the alleles in the three children.
