I've had some SNPs done by different companies; one SNP had opposite
results, 3 others agreed. I had a number of markers done by both FTDNA and
DNAH --- the ones they have in common. They quoted the same repeat numbers
on all markers. I have a great granddad line with 3, yes 3, different
repeats at DYS461 --- 12, 13, and 14 --- and all in the same donor's ydna.
I really should be peddling that result around to different labs.

I actually have higher confidence in STR results than SNP results, and the
consequences of a single error on a STR are minor compared to an SNP error.
It pays to have redundancy behind your conclusions and have the courage to
question funny results from the companies.
