Because (old) I1b comes with three such different subclades within ---
Dinaric, Western, Isles --- any variance/age estimate based on using the
entire (old) I1b population will have lots of pseudo-variance produced by
the modal differences between these subclades. Actually, I find pure
Dinaric (old) I1b = new I1b1, and pure Western (old) I1b each having less
variance than AngloSaxon I1a.
The ratio of Dinaric versus Western versus Isles (old) I1b will certainly be
database-dependent.
