What does the paragraph mean ?
Are you talking about having your complete mtDNA sequence done
($345 seems to the going price), or are you talking about something
The other mutations in mtDNA are in the 'coding areas' and
the term 'autosomal' would be inappropriate.
And, if two persons are related, as you are considering, then their
complete sequence of the mtDNA can be expected to be identical.
Are you saying you expect an 'Apache' background ? If so,
having complete sequences would be very useful for others to match
I was thinking that if Monica's grandmother really is a sister of my
grandmothers then our autosomal markers should show a similar profile
too, but that I think would be less definitive than the mtDNA. Autosomal
testing would be for later though. Right now I hope Monica decides to
test her mtDNA HVR2. Al
