Thanks Ian. Here are my guesses for further subclades for the K's:

>T14798C A15296G A15326G G15928A C16159T T16311C
[146C, 152C and 498- put it in K1c. 9093G and 11377A get it to K1c1.
Interesting that it's missing 16519C.]

>C16234T T16311C T16519C
[497T puts it into K1a. 16234T is found in several places in K1a, but this
one doesn't fit any of the nine listed subclades so it can be labeled K1a*.]

>T16093C T16224C T16311C A16318T G16319A A16463G T16519C
[5913A puts this into K1b. 9962A, 10289G and 15946T get it to K1b1. Then it
has four out five necessary to get it to K1b1a: 152C, 11923G, 15257A and
16319A; it's missing the 13967 shown on Behar's K chart. Back mutation or
new branch? Behar then has two unlabeled groups under that; one is 16346G,
but that is certainly a transposition of the correct 16463G which this one
has. (Behar's examples are from Herrnstadt, who is one of those who
apparently don't put HVR mutations on GenBank. In the K Project, there are
11 with 16319A; 10 of them have the additional 16463G. This is a highly
diversified subclade. Of the five high-resolution examples in the K Project,
there are no exact matches. The 16318T above is interesting; there is one
HVR-only person in the K Project with that, but their listed ancestral
origin is not Portugal, it's the Cherokee Nation!]

>A2706G A3480G A4769G C7028T A7118G A8860G G9055A T9698C A10398G A10550G

>C14766T T14798C A15326G T16093C T16224C T16311C T16519C
[This has the 16093C to get it started down the K1a4c line, but none of the
other necessary mutations. That heteroplasmic mutation is really not a good
one for subclading.]
