Howdy Jim,

We less numerous but much more interesting (another GBG) I1b1 folks, as well
as other rare and exotic tribes, need to make our voices heard among those
common as flies hordes that are receiving most of the attention from the
laboratories and researchers. I usually lurk on this forum and often feel
R1bed and I1aed to death and think that we are seeing a distorted view of
what really happened way back when, particularly during later times as the
last glacial maximum waned and people began to leave the various refugia.
Sampling is certainly part of the problem but so is research interest and
emphasis. However, I do realize the necessity of commercial labs to recover
their costs and make a reasonable profit.
I guess we're just stuck with reality and will have to get our jollies from
being "special" and not just part of them thar herds of Rs, Es etc.
As David suggests elsewhere in this or the following digest, I will approach
FTDNA and see if I can find if there's anything coming up in their future
for our exalted I1b1 bunch. I'll let you and everyone know if I'm
successful.
May the Force be with us!
Wil
