to exhume my father, and if a news agency would like to fund it, they can be

Hi, I'm a reporter with the New York Times, and I've talked to some of you
on this list before. For a new article I'm working on, I am looking for
stories about the unusual tactics genealogists must sometimes use in their
pursuit of DNA matches from suspected family members. This could include
anything from paying for a large number of tests to flying across the
country to knock on someone's door to exhuming a body. I'm sure there are
other CSI-like practices adapted for this purpose that I am as yet unaware
of. In some cases, the persuasion might be particularly tricky because it
would upend long-cherished family beliefs. In others, it might be simply
that the person or people in question is not interested in participating. If
you have gone to unusual lengths to solicit DNA from your suspected
brethren, I'd love to hear your stories, whether they bore fruit or not. If
