The possibility exists that your distant relative, if she is absolutely
certain of her Amerindian descent, could be descended from a white female
captive taken by the Cherokee sometime in the early centuries of their
encounters with Europeans.
Cynthia Ann Parker, for example, was a white captive of the Texas Commanche.
She gave birth to Quanah Parker, the famous Commanche chief.
