Dear Ken,
I'm sorry for the inconvienience. If you select the whole table
(including the line above and below) before you copy to the clipboard,
this should work to paste in Excel.
The Excel button is not working at the moment, because the new server
doesn't supply the Pear library that I used on my own server. I need to
learn how to reconfigure this on the 64 bit platform where Ymatch is
running now. I'm working on it.
Also the mtDNA alignment and HTTPS certificate is not operational. But
the Blast server works again and can be used, if you upload you FGS
sequence (or HVS1/2) in FASTA format.
Meanwhile I have made some smaller improvements on the database servers
(Ymatch, Xmatch and MTmatch). The country of origin is listed and can be
searched. So please go to your account and click on "Edit your
information" to update your country of origin.
Country father means the country of your ancestors in a direct male
line. (Will be used for Ymatch).
Country mother means the country of your ancestors in a direct female
line. (Will be used for MTmatch).
Country origin means the "average" country of your ancestors in general
of all lines except the two above. (Will be used for Xmatch).
My next step will be attaching a simple (OmniPop style) mapping
interface to this which can be previewed here:
http://www.dna-fingerprint.com/helio/mapit.php
It can be easily configured by the URL and you may want to link to it
from any external website by just giving your own parameters:
You can change the color of a country by using the 2 letter internet ID:
http://www.dna-fingerprint.com/helio/mapit.php?US=45
A couple of countries can be painted if you make a chain of parameters
and link them by "&":
http://www.dna-fingerprint.com/helio/mapit.php?US=45&CA=30&MX=20&DE=90
You can modify the scale of the shading by changing the default max=100:
http://www.dna-fingerprint.com/helio/mapit.php?US=45&CA=30&MX=20&DE=90&max=250
Gray looks boring, so you can change the color to red, green, blue or
rainbow:
http://www.dna-fingerprint.com/helio/mapit.php?US=45&CA=30&MX=20&DE=90&color=red
Also you can focus on some regions:
http://www.dna-fingerprint.com/helio/mapit.php?DE=45&AT=70&CH=90&color=green®ion=europe
This is not a high resolution map, but it is free of royalty. For those
who want to implement this on their own website (PHP required) can ask
me or look at the original version:
http://www.helio.org/world/
I hope this is useful for someone,
Thomas
